A former Tennessee Vols standout landed a new coaching job this week.

Former Vols running back Cedric Houston was announced as the new running backs/defensive backs coach at Grace Christian Academy in Knoxville on Tuesday.

Houston, who is from Arkansas, played for the Vols from 2001 to 2004. He was named to the All-SEC Second Team in 2003 and 2004.

As a senior in 2004, Houston rushed for 1,005 yards to go along with eight rushing touchdowns. He also caught 16 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown.

Houston was selected by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Jets, rushing for 676 yards and seven touchdowns in 20 games, before ending his NFL career just before the start of the 2007 season.
