Tennessee football was picked to finish seventh in the Southeastern Conference this season, as voted on by media members in attendance in Dallas for the SEC Media Days last week. Is that too high, too low or just about right for Josh Heupel’s club this season?

Cooper Mays and James Pearce were voted to the First-Team All-SEC Preseason squad, but no other Vol cracked the three teams. Was Omari Thomas or Dylan Sampson snubbed? Who could end up being on the postseason All-SEC team at the tail end of 2024?

Christian Gass became the latest commitment for Josh Heupel’s 2025 recruiting class. Who could be next with a major weekend on deck? Who are some flip candidates the Volunteers are currently pursuing?

The Volquest crew of Brent Hubbs, Rob Lewis and Eric Cain discuss this and much more on the latest edition of the weekly podcast. This show is presented by Exterior Home Solutions. For a free estimate, give them a call today at 865-524-5888 or visit them online at ExteriorHomeSolutions.com .

Brent Hubbs on Tennessee being voted seventh in SEC

“I think if you’re Tennessee, you are loving where you are sitting right now. I think you’re kind of middle of the pact and people kind of disrespecting you. you can play that card with a chip on your shoulder. Every coach loves to play that one as much as they can. I sit here and look at it – I’m not sold yet on what LSU is going to be. Ole Miss’ schedule is not bad and I think Missouri id bringing a lot of people back. I get the Missouri love right now. I think when you look at that for me, Georgia – I guess Texas – and then after that, don’t you think you can kind of put those other teams in a cluster together. Kind of a 3-A, 3-B, 3-C, D. Is that out of the realm?”
