The Tennessee Vols appear to be an early favorite to land 2026 four-star wide receiver Travis Johnson.

Johnson, 6-foot-3/165 lbs from Chesapeake, VA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 15 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 6 player in the state of Virginia. He's also rated as the No. 122 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, South Carolina, and Tennessee are the six schools currently standing out to Johnson. And the Vols might be near the top of the list based on his recent comments to On3.

The talented wide receiver told On3 that he's built a solid relationship with Vols wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope, noting that he talks to Pope multiple times a day.

Johnson also told On3 that his relationship with Pope is probably "the strongest" one that he has with any position coach so far.

It's obviously still early in Johnson's recruitment, but it looks like the Vols are going to be very much in the mix to land the four-star wide receiver.

Tennessee doesn't currently have any players committed to its 2026 recruiting class.
