    Knoxville man accused of killing former boss indicted, facing murder charge

    KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man accused of killing his former boss in February has been indicted on several charges.

    Daniel Arwood , 38, is accused of shooting and killing 29-year-old Aaron Russell on February 5 . He was indicted on first-degree murder, two counts of evading arrest, unlawful possession of a weapon, and violation of driver’s license law by a grand jury on July 17.

    On June 6, Arwood was in court for a preliminary hearing and after hearing witness testimony and seeing video of the shooting, the Judge bound the case over to a grand jury. Police reports claimed that Arwood was an ex-employee of Russell, and had been fired by Russell a week before the shooting.

    Russell worked as a school bus driver and was at the automotive center where buses were held when the shooting happened . According to police, Arwood had been using a room at the center as a residence. He was due to leave on the day of the shooting.

    According to court records, an arraignment has been set for July 26.

    In June, Russell’s family told 6 News they wanted others to remember him as a loving, caring and respectful person.
