Knoxville Police investigate Inskip shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A woman was taken to a hospital early Sunday morning after a shooting in the Inskip neighborhood.

Officers responded to the 4700 block of Romeo Way just before 4 a.m. Sunday where a 20-year-old woman had been shot in the lower body. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.

She was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the suspect appears to be a thin Black male who was wearing dark clothing and left the scene in an unidentified dark-colored car.
