When is Target's denim take back event? Where to participate in Tennessee

Target will host its first ever " Denim Take Back Event " next week.

The "Denim Take Back Event" from Target is similar to the retailer's "Car Seat Trade-in Program" where people can trade in old supplies for a discount on new ones. In this event, rather than trading in car seats, customers can trade in old denim. This can be denim that is worn, out grown or destroyed in any way. The only rule is that it has to be denim.

Here is what to know about the promotional event.

When is Target's denim take back event?

The event will take place from Sunday, Aug. 4 through Saturday, Aug. 10. During these days, customers can bring in denim in any condition to a Target store. The denim must be dropped off in the designated boxes inside the store.

After you turn in the denim, you will receive a Target Circle promo code for 20% off all denim apparel in store. This includes Target-owned brands like Universal Thread, Wild Fable, Goodfellow & Co, Cat & Jack and national brands like Levi's. The promotion is redeemable during the window of Aug. 4 through 10.

"Our new Denim Take Back Event is an easy way for families to give their used denim a new life," says Gena Fox, Target's senior vice president of merchandising for apparel and accessories, in the news release.

"With back-to-school and college shopping top of mind for families, we're offering this 20% off Target Circle deal to make it even more affordable for our guests to refresh their denim wardrobes, while also doing our part to reduce waste and keep used denim out of landfills," Fox said in the news release.

How to sign up for Target Circle?

Customers can sign up for a free Target Circle account online or via the Target app . It is the store's loyalty program where customers can get discounts and coupons throughout the year.

Target locations in Tennessee

Target has 30 stores in 21 cities across the state of Tennessee. Knoxville has the most locations with five stores in the city limits. Nashville and Memphis both have three locations each.
