KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — As Tennessee football’s preseason camp gets underway, head coach Josh Heupel , defensive coordinator Tim Banks , and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle held a press conference to break down their expectations for the upcoming season.
The first practice of the preseason camp is scheduled for Wednesday. The team will have nine members from their signing class practicing for the first time and 10 “super” seniors, including offensive guard Javontez Spraggins and wide receiver Bru McCoy, returning for their final preseason camp.
Program-record 17 Tennessee swimmers headed to 2024 Olympics This season marks Heupel’s fourth season at Rocky Top and UT said the team is set to have one of the deepest defensive units in the country. Over his past three seasons, Heupel has produced a 27-12 overall record. UT added that Banks has led the team to become one of the most aggressive and productive units in the nation and Halzle has overseen the two highest passer rating seasons in UT history.
The 2024 season will officially begin on August 31 when UT faces Chattanooga . Kickoff is set for 12:45 p.m. ET on SEC Network and limited single-season game tickets remain on sale for select home games at AllVols.com . However, season tickets are sold out for the second season in a row.
