    Ready for Nov. 5? Who will be on your ballot for US Senate, House, Tennessee legislature

    The general election for president, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and Tennessee Senate and House will be Nov. 5, and the candidate list is set.

    This is the last round of voting that will take place during the busy 2024 election year. Knox County Republicans and Democrats nominated their state and federal candidates on Aug. 1, the same day they elected the newest county commissioners, judge, law director and property assessor.

    The deadline to register to vote in the fall election is Oct. 7, and voters can request absentee ballots starting Aug. 7.

    Here's who will be on the ballot Nov. 5.

    US Senate

    Republican

    • Sen. Marsha Blackburn , 72, beat a single Republican challenger in the primary. Tre Wittum, a former Tennessee legislative staffer, previously ran for the 5th Congressional District in 2022.

    Democrat

    • State Rep. Gloria Johnson , 62, beat Democratic primary challengers Marquita Bradshaw,  Lola Denise Brown and Civil Miller-Watkins.

    US House of Representatives District 2

    Tennessee's 2nd congressional district includes Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Grainger, Knox, Loudon and Union counties.

    Republican

    • Rep. Tim Burchett , 59, has served in elected office since 1994, including in both branches of the Tennessee Legislature and as Knox County's mayor before heading to Congress. He has served District 2 since 2019, and did not have a primary challenger.

    Democrat

    • Jane George , 61, is a Knoxville small business owner.

    US House of Representatives District 3

    Tennessee's 3rd congressional district includes Anderson, Bradley, Hamilton, McMinn, Morgan, Polk and Roane Counties, as well as parts of Campbell and Scott counties.

    Republican

    • Rep. Chuck Fleischmann , 61, is an attorney who has served the 3rd District since 2011.

    Democrat

    • Jack Allen , 73, Democrat, is a retired bank president

    Independents

    • Jean Howard-Hill
    • Stephen "Scooter" King

    Tennessee Senate

    District 6

    The Tennessee Senate's 6th District includes the eastern part of Knox County.

    Republican:

    • Sen. Becky Massey , 69, was the director of the Sertoma Center before her election to the Tennessee Senate, where she has served since 2011.

    Democrat :

    • Domonica Bryan , 39, is an investigator with the Department of Children's Services.

    Tennessee House of Representatives

    District 14

    The Tennessee House of Representatives 14th District includes parts of southeast Knox County.

    Republican :

    • Rep. Jason Zachary , 46, is a technology consultant, and has held his seat in the House since 2015. He did not have a challenger in the primary.

    Democrat :

    • Amanda Collins , 46, was a school psychologist before retiring from Knox County Schools in 2020. She has run unsuccessfully against Zachary in the past, and did not have a challenger in the primary.

    District 15

    The Tennessee House of Representatives 15th District includes parts of northeast as well as downtown Knoxville.

    Republican

    • Justin Hirst , 51, is an X-ray product specialist. He was unopposed in the primary.

    Democrat

    • Rep. Sam McKenzie , 58, is retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and is a small business owner. He previously served on the Knox County Commission, and has represented District 15 since 2021. He faced one challenger in the Democratic primary.

    District 16

    The Tennessee House of Representatives 16th District includes parts of west Knox County.

    Republican

    • Rep. Michele Carringer , 62, works in advertising and has served the district since 2021. She previously served on the Knox County Commission. She was unopposed in the primary.

    Democrat

    • Lauren Carver , 29, works at UT Gardens as a horticulturist/administrator.

    Independent

    • Sean Eastham , 25, is a talent manager at KARM Stores.

    District 18

    The Tennessee House of Representatives 18th District includes parts of south and west Knoxville as well as east Knox County.

    Republican

    • Rep. Elaine Davis , 57, is retired. She has served in the House since 2023. She did not face a primary challenger.

    Democrat

    • Bryan Goldberg , 41, is the manager of Knoxville's BELFOR office. He was unopposed in the primary.

    District 19

    The Tennessee House of Representatives 19th District includes east and northeast Knox County. Rep. Dave Wright, a Republican has served that district since winning election in 2018. He's seeking reelection and does not have a primary challenger. There was an unsuccessful effort by Democrats to nominate a challenger by write-in ballot.

    Republican

    • Rep. Dave Wright , 78, is retired from AT&T. He previously served on the Knox County Commission.

    District 89

    The Tennessee House of Representatives 89th District includes southwest Knox County.

    Republican

    • Rep. Justin Lafferty , 52, is a small business owner. He has served the district since 2019, and did not have a primary challenger.

    Democrat

    • Cary Hammond , 48, is an accountant, and did not face primary opposition

    District 90

    The Tennessee House of Representatives 90th District includes parts of west Knoxville and parts of downtown. Rep. Gloria Johnson represented the district since 2022, after it was redrawn. Before that, she represented District 13 from 2012-2014 and 2018-2020.

    Democrat

    • Rep. Gloria Johnson , 62, is a retired teacher. She was unopposed in her reelection bid for her current Tennessee House seat, while running simultaneously in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate. As winner of that race, too, she will face Sen. Marsha Blackburn in November.
