2025 QB George Macintyre has been working the recruiting trails for the Tennessee Vols. The Brentwood Academy signal caller been doing it so well that he might as well be on staff at this point.
MacIntyre helped make a final pitch to 5-star OL David Sanders when they were all in Knoxville together last weekend. He and fellow commit Ethan Utley posed at the Rock on campus with Sanders and TE DaSaaahn Brame, the latter of whom flipped to the Vols from Oregon shortly thereafter.
However, other big recruiting news for Tennessee took place on Saturday, and it involved the position that MacIntyre is coming to try to earn in Knoxville. #1 overall recruit in the 2026 class Faizon Brandon committed to the Vols over LSU, Alabama, and NC State.
That being said, don't think for one second that MacIntyre - who will be joining the Vols next fall - is upset about it. To the contrary, actually.
MacIntyre quote tweeted a post pointing out all of the quarterbacks the Vols had landed over the last four cycles. He added a picture of Tennessee offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle looking cool and suave in casual clothing.
In other words, well done, coach.
That's quite the message for MacIntyre to be sending, but that's just further proof of how much he wants and has been wanting Tennessee to load up on the recruiting trail.
Who knows exactly how things will shake out when MacIntyre and Brandon ultimately end up on campus. There's going to be one heck of a competition in the coming years, particularly when Nico Iamaleava moves on to play football on Sundays.
However, regardless of what happens you have to love how MacIntyre has handled this particular part of the recruiting process. Shows a level of maturity beyond his years, which is what you want to see in a quarterback and team leader.
