Teen hospitalized following shooting in west Wichita

One man was reported in critical condition after a shooting in west Wichita.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the 3600 block of W. 13th Street, near 13th and West.

Officers found a vehicle that had crashed into a fence. A short time later they located an man, 18, about a block away with gunshot wounds to his legs.

The man was transported to the hospital with critical, but not life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said there were two additional occupants inside the vehicle who fled the scene.  It's believed that the vehicle was the intended target.
