A very high-traffic exit ramp in Wichita will be closing Monday. According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, the exit ramp from westbound Kellogg to southbound I-135 will close Monday, Sep. 30. The closure is for a project that will involve milling, patching and a concrete overlay.

Motorists should follow the signed detour on northbound I-135 to exit 6B and 2nd Street, then turn left on southbound I-135 to west Kellogg exit 6A. This is the last phase of the bridge rehabilitation project taking this year at the I-135/U.S. 54 interchange. The work is set to conclude by late December, conditions permitting.

During construction, motorists are advised to stay alert and watch out for construction workers. KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in the Wichita area, visit ksdot.gov .
