At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will look at approving nearly $15 million to make repairs on the city's water system. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News the money will be spent on three projects, with the bulk of the money to repair Cheney Reservoir's dam. While the water is low because of the drought, it's a good time to make those repairs. Cheney Reservoir is Wichita's primary water source.

The City of Wichita is still looking for someone to operate the new winter homeless shelter, in the former Park Elementary School on north Main. Mayor Wu says the City has $600,000 to pay an operator. The shelter is set to open in late November.

Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.

Repair a dam on a dried up reservoir, but no plan B in case of no rain. It's over 8 feet below where we need it to be!
