Rogers to add tunnel crossing to improve cyclist safety

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The City of Rogers is enhancing safety and traffic flow with the installation of a tunnel crossing at the intersection of the Railyard Loop trail and 8th Street, just south of Easy Street.

This new crossing will reduce pedestrian-vehicle interactions and improve access to the Razorback Greenway, according to a news release.

A full road closure, with detours in place, will occur from 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, until 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will maintain access during this period.

This initiative is part of the 8th and Easy Street Tunnel Street Project.
