Poteau man dies in LeFlore County crash

POTEAU, Okla. ( KNWA/KFTA ) — A Poteau man dies in a crash on Oct. 15 near Shady Point in LeFlore County.

According to a fatal crash report, the crash happened around 5:32 p.m. on US-59 and Brazil Creek Loop less than a mile north of Shady Point.

The report says a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Terry Grizzle, 74, crossed a grass median into northbound lanes and struck a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500.

Grizzle was pinned by the truck and pronounced dead at the scene by LeFlore County EMS. The driver of the Ram was life-flighted to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Grizzle’s condition was unknown at the time of the crash. The condition of the Ram was normal.

It is unknown what caused the crash.

The report says seatbelts were in use, and the weather was clear.
