    UPDATE: Oklahoma Highway Patrol clears Roland Public Schools from lockdown

    UPDATE: ROLAND, Okla. ( KNWA/KFTA ) — Roland Public Schools says Oklahoma Highway Patrol has cleared the campus.

    Students will be allowed back on campus to retrieve their belongings until 9 p.m. on Oct. 17 and again on Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.


    UPDATE: ROLAND, Okla. ( KNWA/KFTA ) — RPS said at 5:06 p.m. on Facebook that they will begin the process of bussing all students on campus to The Bod Church and parents will be able to pick up their children there.

    “Under OHP’s direction, Roland High School students will be the last group removed from campus,” the district said. “There is a system in place and all parties will do everything possible to make the pick-up efficient.”

    Lt. Tyler Ragan with the Rold Police Department said all kids and faculty members are safe.

    “There was no issue at this point, nobody was harmed in the school. Like I said all of this is precautionary measures to make sure everybody is safe,” Ragan said.


    ROLAND, Okla. ( KNWA/KFTA ) — Roland Public Schools says on Oct. 17 it is under a lockdown due to a “potential threat.”

    According to a post on Facebook , the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the threat.

    All through traffic will be stopped and no students will be released until an all-clear is given. Buses will run when the school district deems it safe. “This is for the safety of all those on campus,” the district said.

    The school district says it was notified by a third party of a “potential threat” through the suicide hotline. The hotline has been talking with the caller and communicating with law enforcement.

    The school distirct says it will release information as it comes in.
