Sales tax revenue drops for Northwest Arkansas cities

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The four largest cities in Northwest Arkansas saw a cumulative drop in tax revenue from one year ago.

According to Talk Business and Polictics, The May report for Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville showed a combined $9.614 million, down 0.51% from the previous year.

Springdale had the best results in the May report with $2.104 million in revenue, up 4.84% from the previous year.

Rogers was the only other city in the group to post positive results. The report showed the city had $2.469 million, up 1.9%.

Bentonville’s revenue was $2.356 million, down 7.24% from the previous year.

Fayetteville reported a sales tax revenue of $2.684 million, down 0.31% from the previous year.
