Fayetteville, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Need affordable last-minute Memorial Day weekend plans? Here are five things to do in NWA that are fun and don’t break the budget.

    1. Explore the Razorback Greenway

This 36-mile trail is mostly off-street and connects the downtown areas of Fayetteville, Johnson, Springdale, Lowell, Rogers, and Bentonville. The Razorback Greenway is paved and marked with traffic lines, making it accessible to hikers and bikers of any age.

Along the way, you’ll find arts and entertainment districts, shopping spots, the University of Arkansas campus, playgrounds and more.  For more information, please visit Arkansas.com.

Planning your route? Check out this interactive map of the Razorback Greenway from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism.

    2. See a Naturals baseball game

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals will face off against the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale. The games will start at 6 p.m. on both Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26.

Both games this weekend will also feature a firework show, and Saturday’s game will feature an appearance from Spider-Man and a Bullpen Party from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $9-$15 and can be purchased on the Naturals website .

    3. Go to a flea market

Bentonville is hosting The Big Giant Art and Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. Shoppers can peruse a variety of art and decor from local artists, designers and collectors. The Big Giant Art and Flea Market is “where shoppers and vendors alike discover and be discovered,” according to their page on the Northwest Arkansas Travel Guide .

The venue is located at 1004 SE 5th St . For more details, please visit the event’s Facebook page .

    4. Get crafty

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will be commemorating Memorial Day and the conclusion of A Soldier’s Journey with a drop-in artmaking session. Visitors can stop by anytime from 1 to 4 p.m. on May 25 to 27 to paint a red poppy, learn about its meaning and contribute a poppy to their wall of remembrance. This event is free to all and does not require a ticket.

For more information, please visit the Crystal Bridges Museum website .

Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza in Fayetteville is hosting a custom hat bar on May 25 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to the event’s Facebook page . Custom ball caps start at $25 with any purchase at Smokin’ Oak.
