Strong Storms Possible Thursday Evening

One or two severe storms will be possible this evening across portions of the Ozarks, especially along and north of the I-40 corridor.

Large hail and damaging winds will be the main concerns with any storms that can tap into the intense heat and humidity this afternoon, and the main timeframe for these storms will be between 6 PM – Midnight.

Speaking of the heat and humidity, high temperatures this afternoon will once again soar into the upper-90s to near 100° in most locations, with heat index values approaching 112° in portions of the River Valley.

Better rain chances may be just around the corner Friday night into Saturday morning as another piece of energy swings through the area, though a significant cooldown is looking unlikely over the next several days!
