    FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Thousands are without power in Northwest Arkansas as storms move through the area on the night of Aug. 16.

    LATEST UPDATE (Aug. 17 at 9 p.m.): OG&E reports that 87% of outages were fixed by 8:00 p.m., with 2,600 customers still without service out of a peak of over 20,000.

    No further update from Carroll Electric, Southwestern Electric or First Electric Cooperative.


    Aug. 17 at 6 p.m.: As of 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 17, around 9,100 Oklahoma Gas & Electric customers are currently without service, a decrease from a peak of over 20,000, according to a news release.

    PowerOutage.US reports 1,694 Carroll Electric customers being without power, as well as 1,199 outages at First Electric Cooperative.

    Southwestern Electric has 54 reported outages on PowerOutage.US as of Aug. 17 at 6 p.m.


    Aug. 16, 10:00 p.m.: PowerOutage.US is reporting more than 14,000 Carroll Electric customers without power in Benton County as of 10:00 p.m.


    Aug. 16, 9:40 p.m.: Nearly 1,800 Southwestern Electric customers in Washington County are without power as well as of 9:40 p.m.
