GENTRY. Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Cornerstone Baptist Church in Gentry is giving back to the community by providing a free meal to those in need.

The church hosts a food pantry every Saturday, starting at noon, offering a variety of foods to an average of 30 families each week.

“There’s a lot of families, especially in the western part of the county that are struggling during tough times as the economy struggles, when the tornado hit a few months ago, families that were hurting,” Rob Matney, pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church, said. “We can’t give enough food to change their lives, hopefully enough to encourage them and let them know that we care.”

Cornerstone Church provides food delivery for those who are unable to attend the pantry in-person, according to Matney.
