FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The largest county fair in the state of Arkansas returns to Fayetteville starting on Tuesday.

The Washington County Fair was founded in 1857 and is still running strong.

There are rides, plenty of food trucks, 65 vendors and nearly 1,900 animals registered for the livestock auction.

One of the organizers said preparing for this week takes the entire year.

Former Rogers City Council candidate ordered to pay $71K after taking money from church’s cemetery fund

“Fairs are now a big business, one that’s this large anyway, it takes a small village to make this operate during the year,” Doris Cassidy with the Washington County Fair said.

The fair runs through Saturday. The entry fee is $5 cash or $7.50 if you’re using a card. Students get in free until 3 p.m. on Wednesday and seniors get in free until 5 p.m. on Thursday.

The Washington County Fair also has deals for each day of the fair:

    • Two-Buck Tuesday: $2 Gate Entry and $2 Rides
    • Wristband Wednesday: $25 armbands
    • Partner Up Thursday: 2-for-1 armbands
    • Family Friday: $30 armbands with Midnight Madness
    • Super Saturday: $30 armbands for all-day rides
