PHOTOS: Sam’s Club opens new retail design studio in Bentonville

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Sam’s Club has officially opened its Clubhouse retail design studio on the Bentonville campus.

Clubhouse is Sam’s Club’s first dedicated space for innovation, where “anyone in the company” can pitch ideas, test products and collaborate on projects, according to a news release.

“ This new design studio will not only enable us to provide innovative solutions for our members and associates but also help propel us forward as the incubator for enterprise-wide innovation,” Todd Garner, Chief Product Officer of Sam’s Club, said.

The 37,000-square-foot facility features large workshop spaces for meetings and coworking. The Clubhouse also has areas for testing products, software, hardware and virtual reality experiences, as well as storage for supplies and fabrication, according to the release.

In a news release from 2022 , Martin Granstrom, Sam’s Club Vice President and Head of Product Design & Research, stated that one of the goals of the Clubhouse was to “elegantly integrate physical and digital design.”

The company celebrated the grand opening of the Clubhouse on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Sam’s Club CEO Chris Nicholas, the Mayor of Bentonville Stephanie Orman and other Arkansas state officials attended the event.
