    Bella Vista city offices to remain closed through Friday due to cybersecurity incident

    UPDATE: Bella Vista city offices will also be closed on Friday, August 23, the city announced in a social media post .


    BELLA VISTA, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The city of Bella Vista offices will remain closed to the public on August 22 following a cybersecurity incident on August 18.

    According to a post on Facebook , the city is investigating the incident, requiring the network systems, including internet and phones at city offices, to be shut down.

    The city says business will be conducted online and through email as much as possible.

    The closure includes Bella Vista City Hall, Community Development Services, Bella Vista District Court, Bella Vista Public Library and Bella Vista Street Department.

    The post says the Bella Vista Police Department and Bella Vista Fire Department can be reached using the nonemergency line at 479-855-3771 or 911 in an emergency.

    The city said its IT department found “suspicious activity” and took steps to investigate the issue. Bella Vista reached out to the Arkansas Municipal League for assistance in the investigation.
