    REPORT: Northwest Arkansas sales tax revenue up 2.5%

    FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — A new report shows that the combined sales tax revenue for Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale totaled nearly $10 million in June.

    According to a Talk Business report showing the year-to-date numbers for these cities, most have seen an increase compared to last year, except for Bentonville.

    Bentonville reported about $16.7 million so far this year, which is down 13 percent from last year. Fayetteville’s revenue is holding steady at around $21 million, matching last year’s total.

    According to the county, sales tax received was a little more than $1.23 million which is 1.89% higher than the amount received in the prior year.

    The county says this number is below its targeted budget for the year. 66.67% of the county’s targeted income is accounted for in sales tax. However, It’s only received 62.81% so far.

    Rogers saw a 7% increase, bringing in over $20 million, while Springdale’s revenue ticked up 3% to more than $16 million.
