FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — In July, a total of $22.9 million ($22,956,790) was spent across Arkansas’s 37 dispensaries, resulting in 6,467 pounds of product sold.

So far in 2024, total sales have reached $158.5 million, with 42,602 pounds of product sold. By comparison, sales for the same period in 2023 were $164.6 million, according to a news release from the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA).

In July, Suite 443 in Hot Springs led with 731 pounds sold, followed by Natural Relief Dispensary in Sherwood, which sold 540 pounds.

Currently, 37 dispensaries are operating across the state, according to the release. Arkansas law, under Amendment 98, allows for up to 40 dispensaries.

“Since the first dispensary opened in 2019, Arkansans have spent approximately $1.2 billion on medical marijuana purchases,” Scott Hardin, spokesperson for Department of Finance and Administration, said. “Although the overall spend has decreased since last year, we continue to see pounds sold increase, indicating lower prices.
