    Tyson Foods names Curt Calaway as new CFO

    SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Tyson Foods announced on August 29 that Curt Calaway has been named Chief Financial Officer effective immediately.

    According to a press release from Tyson, Calaway has been with the company since 2006. He has been serving as interim CFO following the suspension of John R. Tyson after he was arrested for DWI .

    The release says Calaway will report directly to Donnie King, president and CEO of Tyson.

    According to the release, Calaway has nearly 30 years of experience in finance, audit and accounting.

    Incident report details Tyson CFO’s DWI arrest

    Before he was interim CFO, Calaway served as the CFO for Tyson’s Prepared Foods Business Unit and was responsible for the company’s mergers and acquisitions and corporate development efforts.

    Calaway has held various leadership roles with Tyson in the past 18 years including controller, chief accounting officer and vice president of audit and compliance.

    “Curt is a proven leader with deep industry knowledge and a wealth of experience in financial strategy and reporting,” said King. “I am confident Curt will continue to help drive our operational excellence and shareholder value.”

    John R. Tyson was arrested in June on multiple charges including DWI and careless driving. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

    The release says John R. Tyson is still with the company.
