Springdale police investigate 5-year-old boy’s death

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Springdale Police Department said that a boy may have possibly drowned Monday, Sept. 2 around 8 a.m.

According to a news release, officers were called to an apartment complex where an unresponsive 5-year-old was found in a pool. Officers began life-saving measures on the child. The child was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say this is an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
