Man arrested in connection with Rogers shooting

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a shooting in Rogers.

On September 5, at approximately 10:02 p.m., officers from the Rogers Police Department (RPD) responded to a medical call in the 1600 block of South 8th Street.

Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. Police found sufficient evidence to charge Michael Barcenas, 19, with capital murder or attempted capital murder .

Barcenas is currently being held in the Benton County Jail, with no bond set.

The shooting was an isolated incident, and there is currently no threat to the public , according to RPD. The investigation is ongoing .
