Van Buren School District to spend $8 million on high school expansion

VAN BUREN, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Van Buren School District will spend more than $8 million to expand band and wrestling facilities at Van Buren High School.

The district is adding a nearly 21,000-square-foot band addition. Permits show the space will feature a nearly 3,400-square-foot practice room and three future 820-square-foot practice rooms on the second floor.

The district is also adding 8,000 square feet and renovating 17,000 square feet for the wrestling program.

The addition will include a 5,700-square-foot practice room, a 1,200-square-foot boys locker room, a coach’s office and a training room.

The project is expected to be completed by November 2025.
