UPDATE: UAFS police lift shelter-in-place; search for suspect continues off-campus

FORT SMITH, Ark. ( KNWA/KFTA ) — UAFS PD says the shelter-in-place has been lifted. The subject was seen leaving campus and it has no reason to believe he is on campus. Police say the search continues off campus.

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) students are being advised to shelter in place following an alert from the UAFS Police Department.

The alert states that UAFS PD, along with other agencies, is searching for a potentially armed and dangerous man with an active warrant.

The subject was last seen west of campus on Kinkead.

According to UAFS police, the subject is a white man wearing dark shorts, a dark sweatshirt and dark shoes or boots.

UAFS police say he was last seen west of campus on Kinkead Avenue.
