Overnight lane closures scheduled on Interstate 49 in Springdale

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Nightly closures of parts of Interstate 49 in Springdale are scheduled to begin on Sunday and last until next month, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation .

Portions of the interstate will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Sunday, September 15, and running through October 4.

The closures will be between U.S. 412/West Sunset Avenue at Exit 72 and Elm Springs Road at Exit 73 in Springdale.

Crews will close northbound and southbound lanes in 15-minute intervals at various times throughout the night and the temporary traffic stops are to allow crews to set steel girders for the overpass.

ARDOT says traffic will be controlled using message boards, signs, and barrels.
