Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant opening Fort Smith location this fall

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant is set to open a Fort Smith location later this year, according to a news release.

The Austin, Texas-based company will open its Fort Smith location at 6818 Rogers Avenue, in the former Applebee’s building.

This will be Chuy’s fifth location in the Natural State with locations already open in Fayetteville, Rogers, North Little Rock and Little Rock.

As part of its grand opening celebrations, Chuy’s will be doing a fundraiser for the Fort Smith Animal Haven. Chuy’s is inviting the public to submit photos of their dogs on its website for a chance to be featured on the restaurant’s dog wall.

Chuy’s says that $1 will be donated to Animal Haven for each submission. The first 75 submissions will be framed and added to the dog wall.

“We’re thrilled to bring Chuy’s to Fort Smith, a city with such a rich history and unique cultural tapestry,” Emilie Butt, general manager for Chuy’s Fort Smith, said in the release. “We look forward to adding our own flavor to this dynamic community.”

Chuy’s will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

• Monday 11 a.m – 9 p.m.
• Tuesday 11 a.m – 9 p.m.
• Wednesday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Thursday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Friday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Saturday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Sunday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Chuy’s says it plans to hire 130 employees for the Fort Smith location in full- and part-time positions that include managers, servers, hosts, to-go, bussers, bartenders, and kitchen team members.
