Arkansas State Police pursuit through Fort Smith ends in crash near Arkansas River; three arrested

MOFFETT, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — A pursuit through Fort Smith on Wednesday ended in a crash near the Arkansas River and three arrests, according to Arkansas State Police.

Tyler Jones, 31, of Fort Smith, was arrested on felony fleeing and receive, possess, or conceal stolen property charges.

Dusty Gregory, 41, of Fort Smith, was arrested on a resisting an executive officer charge.

Kali Paul, 28, of Arkoma, Okla., was arrested on resisting an executive officer and receive, possess, or conceal stolen property charges.

ASP said around 12:19 p.m., a trooper saw a red Dodge flatbed truck, that had been reported stolen out of Franklin County, driving near Johnson Street.

The trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the truck and a pursuit ensued through downtown Fort Smith and into nearby Moffett, Okla.

Once in Moffett, ASP said the truck went through a cornfield and eventually crashed into a riverbed on the Arkansas River.

The occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee but were apprehended.

Jones, Gregory and Paul were taken into custody and are being held in the Sequoyah County Jail.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
