Fayetteville police responded to a residence on the 500 block of Betty Jo Drive in Fayetteville around 3:15 p.m. on July 26 for a shooting call.

FPD said there were at least six adults and two children on the patio at the time of the incident.

A victim told police Jackson was yelling and talking to himself while holding a gun and a backpack.

The group reportedly told Jackson to quiet down and he raised the gun at them, firing one round.

The victim said they saw Jackson acting as if the gun had malfunctioned before fleeing.

Jackson was seen running behind a building where a backpack was found by police. A semiautomatic .22-caliber pistol was found in the backpack, according to the affidavit.

The pistol had a fired shell casing stuck in the ejection port and the serial number was scratched off.

Court documents say officers found Jackson inside a Tesla car that did not belong to him and he reportedly tried to drive it away.

Jackson is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $750,000 bond.
