    Fort Smith police seeking public assistance on hit-and-run incident

    FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Fort Smith police say they want the public’s help identifying a suspect connected to a hit-and-run incident that took place on September 11 , according to a news release .

    The incident took place at the intersection of Belle Avenue and Grand Avenue around 7:23 p.m.

    The department says a dark gray or brown GMC Acadia struck a motorcyclist, resulting in serious injuries. The vehicle then fled the scene north on Belle from Grand.

    Witnesses described the driver to FSPD as a white female with blonde hair. The vehicle is expected to have noticeable damage to the front passenger side after hitting the motorcycle’s saddlebag.

    Photos of the vehicle were released by the department and were taken by a witness.
