Mercy Hospital to build cardiac center in Rogers, outpatient center in Bentonville

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Mercy Hospital plans to build a cardiac care center on its campus in Rogers and an outpatient center for specialty care in Bentonville as part of a 30-year, $700 million deal among the hospital, the Alice L. Walton Foundation, the Heartland Whole Health Institute and Cleveland Clinic.

According to a press release, Mercy is committing $350 million to build the cardiac care center and resources for additional physician recruitment. Cleveland Clinic will provide on-site expertise and will cobrand the cardiovascular center with Mercy.

The Alice L. Walton Foundation will provide $350 million to help develop the outpatient center which includes new cardiac services and virtual care. It will also aim to attract, train and retain physicians for the region.

The release says the organizations will then explore additional opportunities to expand care in the area.

As part of the agreement, Mercy will serve as the primary educational partner for the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine.
