Fayetteville waiving pet adoption fees for limited time

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Fayetteville Animal Services will waive adoption fees for all dogs and cats for two weeks starting Tuesday, Oct. 1, due to an increase in available animals at the shelter.

The “Fall Adoption Event” runs through Tuesday, Oct. 15, and aims to find homes for pets while maintaining the shelter’s capacity for lifesaving community work.

“As the weather turns cooler, adoption rates often decline, causing shelters to near their capacity limits,” Animal Services Superintendent Justin Lentz said. “By choosing to adopt, you’re providing a loving home to a pet and making room for another animal in need.”

All adoptable pets will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Animal Services is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The adoption process begins online, where prospective adopters can complete a simple form before visiting the shelter at 1640 S. Armstrong Ave.
