Former Razorback signs deal with Seattle Seahawks; extends 21-year NFL career

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Seattle Seahawks announced former Razorback and nine-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jason Peters has joined the team’s practice squad, extending his two-decade-long career.

ESPN says the Seahawks are down to their third-string right tackle after starter Abraham Lucas was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and George Fant was put on injured reserve.

2024 will be Peters’ 21st season in the National Football League. Peters, 42, appeared in eight games and started two last season for the Seahawks.

Since going undrafted in 2004, after playing tight end at Arkansas , the offensive tackle has played for the Buffalo Bills (2004-08), Philadelphia Eagles (2009-20), Chicago Bears (2021), Dallas Cowboys (2022) and Seahawks.

Peters missed all of the 2012 season due to injury.

The two-time All-Pro is one of five offensive linemen to play in at least 19 seasons, joining Lou Groza, Jackie Slater, Ray Brown and Bruce Matthews, according to ESPN.

In 2023, Peters was the oldest active NFL player after Tom Brady’s retirement.
