Skeletal remains found in LeFlore County identified as missing man

LEFLORE COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says human remains found in LeFlore County have been identified as a man who was reported missing more than three years ago.

Tanner Armstrong McKosky, 25, was reported missing on April 25, 2021, and was last seen at a home in Bengal, located north of Talihina. The LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office asked for OSBI to investigate McKosky’s “suspicious disappearance”.

On September 26, 2024, the Latimer County Sheriff’s Office and LCSO asked for help from OSBI in identifying skeletal remains found in the woods northeast of Bengal. The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

On Tuesday, the medical examiner’s office identified the remains as McKosky. A cause of death still has yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing, OSBI said.
