Workers at LAX are demanding that the City Council pass a motion that would give them a significant pay raise.

KNX News' Emily Valdez reports that employees, from baggage claims to janitorial staff, banded together outside the Delta terminal to voice their grievances.

One United VIP Club custodian, Maria Vasquez, told Valdez they are making minimum wage, and it's high time for what they consider a livable wage, saying, "We play a big role here in LAX."

They recently got a raise, setting the minimum for LAX employees who also receive benefits, to $18.78. Workers like Vasquez are demanding a bump to $25 an hour and then $30 an hour by 2028, which would coincide with the Olympics.
