A recent poll by UC Irvine researchers found that more than a third of Orange County residents are actively thinking about moving.

More than half of respondents were labeled as “potential leavers,” with the high costs of housing, food, and gas as the main reasons people want to leave. Women, people under 40, nonwhite residents, and those without a college degree were the most likely to consider moving.

The poll also found that 37% of O.C. residents know someone who has experienced homelessness, and 52% of renters have worried about being able to pay their rent in the past year.
