The fire was reported about 6:20 a.m. in the two-story building in the 22000 block of West Mulholland Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"Firefighters have surrounding the vacant building, ensuring there is no extension to the brush and are allowing a controlled burn of the remnants of the vacant structure," the LAFD said in a statement shortly before 7 a.m.

"There are no injuries reported," the LAFD statement said. "No further updates anticipated."

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
