If Thursday’s 4.7 magnitude earthquake didn’t remind you to be prepared for any earthquake (including the big one), here’s your reminder.

But what should one pack in their earthquake kit?

“Baseline is food, water, medication,” Holly Amos, an organization expert in Long Beach, told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian. “If you require medication, life-saving medication, you should think of your pets as well. So they should have food and water, and honestly, I think cash is really important too.”

Another important item Amos suggests having is a fire-proof safe.

“They sell it at Home Depot and Lowe's,” she said. “Mine specifically I can escape with. I can carry it out.”

For those who need to get prepared, Amos suggests buying from readyamerica.com .

“Not only do they sell the premade kits for both your family and your pets, but you can also re-up,” she said. “So if you need to buy new food, new water every five years is when that should be done. That's on their website. “
