Authorities Wednesday identified the woman who was found dead at the scene of a house fire in Glendora where her estranged husband was also found dead.

The fire was reported about 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of Danecroft Avenue, near Route 66 and Lone Hill Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Information on the cause of the fire was not available.

According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, Dwayne Moody, 71, and Gisele Moody, 68, were found dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was assisting Glendora police in the investigation.

Lt. Steve De Jong of the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau said in a statement the man who died in the fire was found in a bedroom. The woman was also found in a bedroom.

Investigators also discovered at least one dead dog toward the rear of the home.

"Investigators learned that a male and female adult live at the location," according to the sheriff's department. "The couple was having marital issues and the female had recently filed for divorce."

According to court records, Gisele Moody filed for divorce on Sept. 3.

De Jong told reporters at the scene that Glendora police had responded to the home about a month earlier on an alleged domestic violence incident, but no details were immediately available.

NBC4 reported that the woman's vehicle was at the residence and that she was last seen Sunday evening with family, citing information from De Jong.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
