"The preliminary investigation revealed that a male adult was the driver of the white Chevrolet Corvette and was traveling westbound on Avenue K," the station reported. "For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet Corvette lost control colliding into multiple objects, rolled, and ignited into flames."

The driver and the woman died at the scene. It was unknown if alcohol, drugs or speeding played a factor in the crash, officials said.

Authorities urged anyone with information regarding the crash to contact the Lancaster Sheriff's Station at 661-948-8466.
