Nevada firefighters moved quickly to bring a structure fire under control

Nevada, MO – Nevada firefighters responded to a fire Monday afternoon. The fire was located north of Vernon County square on the 200 block of east locust. Firefighters were able to contain the fast-moving blaze. The investigation is ongoing into what started the fire. The Red Cross has stepped in to assist the residents displaced by the fire.

Miami, OK – The salvation army of Ottawa County service center is moving into a new space that fits all their services. It's moving from Owens boulevard to 19-15 north main street in Miami, OK. It will provide free clothing, access to the food pantry, and social services to people in need. The salvation army of Ottawa County service center is currently open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am to noon.

Kansas – Kansas Governor Laura Kelly signs a proclamation designating March 4th through 8th as severe weather preparedness week in Kansas. Being prepared includes being aware of weather conditions and having a family emergency kit and emergency plan.
