Route 54 bridge closing for rehabilitation starting March 11

    2024-03-11

VERNON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) -- Route 54, Little Dry Wood Creek Bridge will be closing the week of March 11, 2024 for a rehabilitation project.

Crews warn drivers should expect lane reductions and traffic delays on the bridge west of Nevada.

MoDOT says contractor crews will remove and replace the bridge deck/driving surface on both east and westbound bridges.

    Traffic Impacts

    • Beginning March 11, contractor crews will close the westbound bridge and shift traffic head-to-head on the east bound lanes until mid-summer
    • When contractors complete work on westbound bridge, the eastbound bridge will close traffic and shift head-to-head on the westbound lanes for duration of the project
    • Drivers should expect traffic delays
    • Watch for equipment and crews entering and exiting the work zone
    • Drivers should consider alternate routes during the project

Weather and construction delays could alter the work schedule.

MoDOT predicts that the project will cost $2.3 million.
