Kansas County Commissioners gather for spring conference in Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) -- A group of Kansas County Commissioners stop in Pittsburg to discuss the strategies for growing their counties and helping residents.

The Kansas County Commissioners Association hosted it's spring conference at Kansas Crossing Casino.

The conference was an opportunity for them to learn about budgeting tips, accessing grants, and the appraisal of property values.

"We share ideas, things that are working, things that aren't working. Talk about things going on at the state level, legislature also at the federal level, that we may be benefiting from or things that might not be working, things that they've tried other commissioners in other counties. So it's a lot of good conversation, a lot of sharing of ideas," says Jerry Daniels, Allen County Commissioner.

The three day conference began Tuesday, April 15, and wrapped up on Thursday, April 18.
