Miami welcomes new Convention and Visitors Bureau director

MIAMI, Okla. (KOAM) -- The city of Miami has a new director for it's Convention and Visitors Bureau and Tourism.

Jennie LaFave is taking over the position.

"We're happy to have Jennie join the great team at CVB," Miami's Interim City Manager Tyler Cline said, "There's so much going on this year and she's ready to go. We're all excited to see what she can accomplish."

LaFave is an award-winning non-profit director, winning 2023's Oklahoma Main Street Director of the Year.

Under her leadership in Pryor, she led the Main Street organization to a 1566.67% increase in community partnerships in just three years.

LaFave is currently enrolled at the University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute and will be a CEcD by the end of 2025.
