"Dan Golfs the Four States" set to raise funds for PSU athletics

PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) -- President Dan Shipp of Pittsburg State University is set to begin another fundraiser for the Silverback Fund.

According to Pittsburg State University, the fundraiser this year is "Dan Golfs the Four States". President Shipp will be joined by Athletic Director Jim Johnson as they golf a six locations across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

The university says the fund helps provide scholarships to nearly 400 student-athletes at Pitt State.

"We ask a lot of our student-athletes, and what they bring to Pitt State impacts the university and the entire community," Shipp said. "Growing their financial support is critical to continued success and our ability to recruit and retain the best athletes in NCAA Division II athletics."
